ST. CLOUD -- It's that time of year again to start gearing up for back to school. The Salvation Army and Catholic Charities are collecting school supplies for their annual back to school drives.

The drives benefit moderate to low income families who are burdened with the extra cost associated with back to school. The two non-profit organizations are in need of back packs, pencils, markers, crayons, glue, notebooks, pens and more.

Shannon Smithers with the Salvation Army says they're partnering with 30 Shopko stores throughout Minnesota.

You can get the full school supply list at any Shopko location in Minnesota. The Salvation Army is accepting donations through August 8th.

Trina Deitz with Catholic Charities says they are also collecting a variety of school supplies that can be dropped off at their Roosevelt Road location in St. Cloud. She says there's an increase in demand for school supplies each year.

Both organizations are also accepting financial support so they can buy discounted school supplies.
