Apollo’s Abukar Questionable For State Tourney

The St. Cloud Apollo boys basketball team qualified for the Class 3A State tournament with a win Thursday night over Detroit Lakes. Senior guard Ibrahim Abukar had 17 points and 7 rebounds for the Eagles in the win. He is questionable to play Wednesday in the state quarterfinals because of an unselfish act he is about to do.

The Cathedral and Apollo boys basketball teams play in section playoff games this week and WJON will broadcast games on Tuesday and Thursday. Cathedral plays Zimmerman in the section 5AA semifinals at St. Michael-Albertville Tuesday night at 6pm, hear the game on WJON.
