The Bingo Emporium in St. Cloud has closed. The Bingo Emporium held their last bingo session at at 2820 1st Street South this past Saturday. Hall manager Bonnie Merkling says they lost their lease, because the building owner is taking over the space to expand his business.
Transportation funding continues to be a hot topic down at the State Capitol. On Monday Governor Mark Dayton unveiled his transportation plan, that includes a 6.5 percent sales tax on gas, and higher vehicle registration fees.
Crime in Waite Park is on the rise, putting a strain on the police department and the city's budget. To help with the issue, city leaders have convinced State Senator John Pederson of St. Cloud to introduce a bill that would raise the sales tax in Waite Park by a quarter cent.
