The St. Cloud metro area has it's lowest unemployment rate in three years. The September unemployment rate for the St. Cloud metro area was 5.7%, that's down from the 6.5% recorded in August.
The city of Cold Spring and Stearns County will use grant money to help re-furbish some homes and businesses and make some utility repairs. The money is from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development. The money is to help Greater Minnesota communities with infrastructure improvements.
The unemployment rate in the St. Cloud metro area dropped nearly a full percent last month. The latest numbers from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development have the April unemployment rate at 6.6% -- down from 7.5% in March.
The latest local unemployment figures indicate we're not out of the recession woods just yet. The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development says the unemployment rate for the St. Cloud Metro Area rose by a half-percent in December to 6.8%.
