Local Unemployment Rate Drops to 3-Year Low

ST. CLOUD - The St. Cloud metro area has it's lowest unemployment rate in three years.

The latest figures were released today (Tuesday) by the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development.

The September unemployment rate for the St. Cloud metro area was 5.7%, that's down from the 6.5% recorded in August.  It's also our lowest unemployment rate since October of 2008.

Mankato and Rochester are both still doing better than the St. Cloud area, they both have an unemployment rate below five.  But, we're doing better than Duluth, which is at 6 1/2%.
