The Minnesota Wild won 2-1 in an overtime shootout at Edmonton Thursday night. Dany Heatley scored the lone Wild goal in regulation with just :02 left. Matt Cullen scored the game-winning goal in the shootout for Minnesota. Niklas Backstrom had 30 saves for the Wild.

The Minnesota Wild lost 4-3 to St. Louis in a preseason game Tuesday night. Minnesota led 3-2 after 2 periods but couldn't hold onto the lead. Dany Heatley had 2 assists and Marek Zidlicky, Mikko Koivu and Brett Bullmer each scored a goal for Minnesota. Niklas Backstrom had 22 saves for the Wild.

The Minnesota Wild traded for left winger Dany Heatley Sunday with San Jose and send forward Martin Havlat to the Sharks in exchange. Heatley is a 30-year old goal scorer who had 26 goals and 38 assists for San Jose last season. He scored 64 points. The Wild will be the 4th NHL team for Heatley.
