Federal officials say Minnesota needs to toughen up its anti-bullying law. A Department of Education report on 46 states with laws against bullying gives Minnesota the lowest marks for the lack of scope and definitions in its law.

Speaker on Bullying Coming to St. Cloud Civic Center

Resource Training & Solutions along with the St. Cloud Diocese have partnered to bring an expert on bullying to the St. Cloud Civic Center Monday night. Barbara Coloroso is a former nun, a wife, a mother, author and teacher. She will bring a message of "Bullying: Breaking the Cycle of Violence" to her presentation.

A state survey finds that there's more than half a chance a student in Minnesota schools has been bullied or has bullied someone else. The analysis by the Departments of Health and Education uses data from a survey of more than 130,000 students.

Students at ROCORI and Albany high school will learn about the harmful effects of bullying. Assemblies will be held at both schools tomorrow (Thursday) presented by "Teen Truth Live" and the Special Olympics "Spread the Word to End the Word" campaign.

Emotional School Board Meeting On Bullying

Parents and students packed an emotional Anoka-Hennepin School Board meeting to urge the district to impose tougher rules against bullying. Dozens of people gathered Monday night in Coon Rapids to impel the board to better train teachers on issues affecting gay, lesbian and transgender students.
