ST. JOSEPH - St. Joseph is weighing the possibility of putting in a dog park in town.

The park board presented the idea to the city council on Monday night. A possible location for the park is a five-acre site between Fir Street and Highway 75.

The park would likely be funded and built mostly through donations and volunteer work.

The city will hold an open public forum on the project in the future. Earlier in the council meeting, two residents living by the proposed area said they are opposed to having the park near their home.

The park board will now review all possible sites and will specifiy a plan to present to the council.
