ST. CLOUD -- Throughout the month of October St. Cloud Firefighters are "Going Pink" for a cure.

It's an effort celebrated by firefighters nation-wide. The fire crew started participating three years ago by wearing pink shirts while on-duty all month long to show support for breast cancer awareness research.

It's a cause that hits close to home for many of the firefighters. St. Cloud firefighter, Kevin Fleming says some of his family members suffered from breast cancer.

Firefighter, Derek Schwegel says a few of his family members have also battled breast cancer.

The fire department is also selling the shirts at various locations throughout the community including Coborn's Superstores in Sauk Rapids, Sartell and St. Cloud as well as Cash Wise West.

You can get a shirt with a $15 donation. Last year the department sold about 1,500 shirts. One-hundred percent of the proceeds are being donated locally to the CentraCare Breast Center.
