ST. CLOUD - St. Cloud State University's ISELF building is still under construction, but they're already getting their first piece of equipment for the facility.

SCSU is one of 15 MnSCU schools that will benefit from an infusion of more than $1.2 million to buy new educational equipment.  St. Cloud State will receive $120,000 in state funds to help buy an X-ray diffractometer valued at more than $365,000.

-ray diffraction is used by scientists and engineers in fields like biology, chemistry, physics, mechanical and electrical engineering, geology, earth science, and ecology and anthropology.

SCSU broke ground on the new $45 Million ISELF building last fall, and it's expected to open a year from now.  It's the largest single construction project in the history of the MnSCU system.
