SARTELL - The Sartell-St. Stephen School District is expected to see continued growth but at a slower pace for the next 10 years.

The district has seen enrollment increase by 25.9 percent for the past 10 years and now has 3,759 students enrolled in its schools, compared to 2,985 in 2005-2006.

The rapid enrollment growth was likely due to an increase of housing stock in the area, the increase in housing stock has now started to slow down.

Projections say enrollment is expected to increase 1.4 to 8 percent in the next 10 years. In the 2024-2025 school year, the district is expecting to have between 3,810 to 4,060 students.

A facility planning process is underway in the district to determine if new buildings or building renovations are needed to accommodate student growth.
