Pet Blessing Hosted by Sacred Heart Church [VIDEO]

SAUK RAPIDS - The Sacred Heart Church hosted its pet blessing this afternoon, allowing pets of all shapes and sizes to come and receive individual blessings.

Every type of animal was welcome at the event today. Dogs, cats, and rats were all present this afternoon. Larger animals like horses have made appearances in the past.

"It's a wonderful event, all kinds of animals are welcome" Joel Marie Neubert, a member of the church said, "Father takes the time to bless each pet individually."

Thanks to beautiful fall weather today, the ceremony was held outdoors as owners and pets gathered in the church parking lot.

Pet owners consider the blessing important, since pets are considered members of their family.

"It's such an important part of our families, Zoey-Joel is like my daughter. It's important that she's here every year." Neubert said.
