SARTELL - Mom, dad, grandma and man's best friend were all invited to receive their blessing Sunday morning.

The annual pet blessing was held at Unity Spiritual Center of Central Minnesota. There were many pets at the event outside of just dogs. There were a few cats, and a horse. In years past they have even had iguanas brought to be blessed.

Barbara Winter Martin is the Minister at Unity. She says the blessing is a way to acknowledge the impact pets have on our lives.

"We really wanted to honor greater creation. These pets are such important parts of peoples lives, and they are a great example of unconditional love."

Outside of being able to honor their pets, Martin also says it is a great way for people to see what Unity Spiritual Center is all about.

"We are inclusive and support people in whatever their spiritual paths are."

The 4th annual pet blessing also featured a picnic and live music.
