Northstar Commuter Train Growing More Popular
MINNEAPOLIS - A record number of people boarded the Northstar Commuter Train last year.
Metro Transit in the Twin Cities says over 787,000 people used the Northstar train in 2013 - a 12.4 percent increase from 2012. It's the highest number in the line's four-year history.
Metro Transit General Manager Brian Lamb says a fare reduction made permanent in April, along with the addition of the Ramsey station in November of 2012, helped boost ridership.
