ST. JOSEPH - A new deli style-pizza shop is being planned in St. Joseph.

Sliced on College Avenue will serve pizza and deli style American contemporary food. Items will include original pizzas, burgers, wings, salads, fruit and sandwiches. They will also offer hand scooped ice cream and pie by the slice.

Sliced will move into 14 College Avenue North. Tanya Finken, who has operated Kay's Kitchen for the past seven years, recently bought the property. She says Sliced will emphasize convenience and great food.

"We're looking more towards the convenience of a grab and go deli location," Finken says.

Sliced on College Avenue will include a late night pizza by the slice service window that will run Thursday through Saturday from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Catering will also be available from the building.

Finken says they are hoping to open on July 1st. They plan to remodel parts of the current building and add more natural light inside.

"I think the location is awesome-your possibilities are pretty endless with what you can do here," Finken says.

St. Joseph Mayor Rick Schultz says Sliced received approval for its BFA and RLF fund requests on Wednesday night.
