FARGO - North Dakota State University officials are asking for the public's help to help find a missing student from Sartell.

Thomas Bearson was last seen on Saturday morning. He's a first year student at the school.

He was last seen leaving a party early Saturday. He was supposed to meet his parents that same day but never showed up.

Police spokesman Lieutenant Joel Vettle held a news conference this (Monday) afternoon. He says they are conducting a grid-like search of the area where Tom Bearson was last seen.

Vettle says they'll be using police dogs to assist in the search..

Authorities are still going through surveillance video. Friends have told police Bearson was in a good mood on Friday night.

A public search is not being requested at this time.

It appears his cell phone is not working.

NDSU's vice president for student affairs, Tim Alvarez, called a late night news conference to get word out about Bearson's disappearance.

Bearson lives in a residence hall on the NDSU campus and was seen on surveillance video.

NDSU police says anyone who knows anything can call 701-231-8998 or text 701-526-6006 their office

Friends have also posted messages on social media sites to help get the word out.
