Investigation Continues Into Tom Bearson’s Death

MOORHEAD - Moorhead Police continue gathering evidence and conducting interviews as they try to find out more about the death of NDSU student, and Sartell native, Tom Bearson.

His body was found outside Larry's RV in south Moorhead late yesterday (Tuesday) morning.

Moorhead police lieutenant Tory Jacobson says, "the investigation is ongoing and it is a collaborative effort between multiple agencies, Moorhead police, Fargo police, NDSU, as well as the Minnesota BCA. So we have working teams communicating and collaborating as the investigation continues."

Jacobson says police are working to find out how Bearson died. They also want to know what he was doing, and who he was with, prior to his death.

Jacobson says any of Bearson's belongings found at the scene could help investigators determine why and how the student got to the area.

Police on Wednesday declined to give more details on the investigation, including the condition of Bearson's body when it was found.

Bearson's body has been taken to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office in St. Paul for an autopsy.  The results are not expected to be public for weeks.

Bearson was last seen near the NDSU campus early Saturday Morning.
