Heat Advisory Posted Today for Southern Half of Minnesota

UNDATED - The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory from noon until 10:00 p.m. today for southern half of Minnesota.

The NWS projects highs today will vary from 92 to 97, and dew points will be in the lower 70s.  This will result in the heat index values from 100 to 108 across much of central and southern Minnesota.

Depending on how widespread the storms are tonight, the heat may return quickly tomorrow (Tuesday), or it may be slightly delayed until Wednesday.  Either way hot weather is in the forecast for the middle and latter part of the week.

Additional warnings and advisories may be needed through Friday.
