DULUTH, Minn. (AP) - A woman who was shot by officers after a standoff outside a Duluth area church last week is improving.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension identifies the woman as 48-year-old Kristen Kelly Johnson of Cloquet.

Johnson initially was reported in critical condition. But reports say Johnson was upgraded to good condition Monday and remains in a Duluth hospital.

The St. Louis County sheriff's office responded to a 911 call of a suicidal woman at Augustana Lutheran Church and found Johnson sitting in her car in the parking lot late Thursday.

The BCA says Johnson got out of the vehicle and threatened officers with a gun. A Hermantown police officer and a Minnesota state trooper fired at Johnson, who suffered two gunshot wounds.

The officers are on standard administrative leave.
