Vera E. Schmidt, 76, Waite Park formerly of Eden Valley

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 Noon, on Friday, November 4, 2016 at the Daniel Funeral Home Chapel in St. Cloud for Vera E. Schmidt, age 76 of Waite Park formerly of Eden Valley who passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk Rapids. Private interment will take place at a later date at the Eden Valley Cemetery.
Vera was born May 20, 1940 in Grove City, Minnesota to Gerald and Nellie (Heavren) Holmes. She married James A. Schmidt on September 1, 1956. Vera lived most of her life in the Eden Valley area. The couple moved to Waite Park in 2002.

Vera is survived by her children, James, Jr. of St. Cloud, Jay (Joan) of St. Cloud, Virginia (Steve) McCloud of Paynesville, Jonathan (Tammy) of Albertville and Joseph of Waite Park; nine grandchildren, Jessica, Emily, Nicholas, Phillip, Rachel, Justin, Madison, Travis and Katlyn; five great grandchildren, Chloe, Audrey, Brooke, Elijah and Raelynn; brother, Ken of Brooklyn Park and sister, Vivian (Jim) Johnson of Mound.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on February 16, 2016; brothers, Al, Bob, Johnny, Donny and Bud; sisters, Lorraine Anderson and Lucy Anderson.

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
