Two Arrested For Assault After Standoff With St. Cloud Police

ST. CLOUD - Two people were arrested, including one already wanted by police, after allegedly assaulting a man in St. Cloud.

Police say the incident happened at about 4:00 p.m. on Monday in the 1500 block of 15th Avenue Southeast in St. Cloud.

A 22-year-old man from St. Cloud told police that two men assaulted him and took his property. Through investigation, the suspects were identified as 22-year-old Rashawn McBridge and 22-year-old Martell Burson.

Officers found a vehicle possibly holding the suspects at 9th Avenue and University Drive South.

The vehicle stopped before police made a traffic stop and Burson and another man ran into a house in the 1300 block of 9th Avenue South. The St. Cloud SWAT Team arrived and a perimeter was set up around the home.

After negotiations, Burson and another man left the house at 8:00 p.m. Two hours later, McBridge also left the house. All were arrested without incident and taken to the Sherburne County Jail, where they will face aggravated robbery and 2nd degree assault charges. McBridge was also arrested for outstanding warrants in Stearns County.

The victim of the assault received treatment at the scene for non-life threatening injuries.
