Twins Host Angels Tonight; Hoey Called Up
The Twins took the day off Thursday and will host the Los Angeles Angels tonight beginning a 3-game series at Target Field at 7:10, pregame on WJON at 6:40. Righthander Scott Baker (2-3) gets the start on the mound for the Twins and righthander Tyler Chatwood (3-2) toes the rubbber for the Angels. Minnesota is 16-32 and is 14 1/2 games back of Cleveland for first place in the American League Central. The Twins have lost 5 of their last 6. Righthander Jim Hoey has been called up from triple-A Rochester to replace Kevin Slowey on the active roster. Slowey was placed on the 15-day disabled list with an abdominal muscle strain. Hoey had a 9.72 ERA in 8 1/3 innings with the Twins in his first stint.
