The Twins have recalled righthander Liam Hendriks from triple-A Rochester to replace Nick Blackburn in the starting rotation. This will be his 3rd stint with the Twins this season. He was 0-5 with a 7.04 in 38 1/3 innings while with Minnesota. For triple-A Rochester he was 9-3 with a 2.20 ERA in 106 1/3 innings. Hendriks is expected to start against the A's on Wednesday afternoon.

Peterson is practicing with the team and was taken off the physically unable to perform list August 12. He is recovering from a torn ACL and MCL in his left knee. The Waite Park 13 and under youth baseball team lost 6-3 to Greenville, North Carolina in bracket play at the 13AAA Babe Ruth World Series in Kitsap, Washington late Monday night. Waite Park is eliminated with the loss and finishes the tournament 3-2. Jack Schramel was 1-4 with a 2-run single and 3 RBIs and both Sam Nelson and Camren Dehler had 2 hits apiece. Dehler took the loss allowing 11 hits and 6 earned runs in 7 innings.
