St. Cloud River Bats

The St. Cloud River Bats defeated Duluth 7-6 in 11 Innings Tuesday night in Duluth. Ronald Sucre led the Bats going 3-5 with a run scored and 2 RBIs and Carlos Lopez was 2-4 with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI. Travis Unthank threw 2 innings with 3 hits and 1 earned run allowed to get the win.

Duluth beat the St. Cloud River Bats 10-5 in Duluth Monday night. The Huskies went out to an 8-2 lead in the 3rd inning and never trailed. Kyle Stiner led the Bats going 3-5 with 1 RBI and J.R. Reynolds had 2 hits for St. Cloud. Jake Smith allowed 5 hits and 7 runs (4 earned) in 2 1/3 innings to take the loss.

The River Bats lost 4-2 at Alexandria Sunday night. Alexandria took a 4-0 lead in the 4th inning and never trailed. C.J. Gillman and Ronald Sucre were each 1-4 with 1 RBI and Carlos Lopez and Jeremy Banks were each 1-4 with 1 run scored for the Bats. Austen Wisroth allowed 5 hits and 4 runs (2 earned) in 6 innings to take the loss.

The St. Cloud River Bats blanked Brainerd 5-0 Saturday night. Andy Urban threw 7 shutout innings with 7 hits allowed and 4 strikeouts to get the win. Offensively C.J. Gillman was 1-3 with 2 RBIs and Bryan Haar was 1-3 with 2 runs scored. The Bats improve to 9-7 in the 2nd half of the season and are 2 games back of Alexandria for first place in the 2nd half North Division standings.

The St. Cloud River Bats beat Brainerd 7-4 Friday night. St. Cloud scored 5 first inning runs and 2 more in the 2nd inning. Bryan Haar had 2 hits and 1 RBI and both Derek Campbell and Carlos Lopez had 2 runs scored. Matt Iannazzo threw 5 innings with 6 hits and 3 earned runs allowed to get the win. St. Cloud is 8-7 in the 2nd half of the season and will host Brainerd again tonight at 6:05, pregame on AM 1390-the Fan at 5:35.

The Mankato Moon Dogs outscored the River Bats 12-8 Thursday night. Mankato scored 5 runs in the 2nd inning and 7 more runs in the 5th inning. C.J. Gillman went 2-3 with a homerun and 3 RBIs for the Bats. Zach Hirsch threw 2 innings with 4 hits and 5 runs (0 ER) to take the loss.

The St. Cloud River Bats defeated Mankato 6-4 Wednesday night in their first game back after the Northwoods League All Star break. St. Cloud scored 2 runs in the 2nd inning and added 3 runs in the 9th inning. Andy Henkemeyer went 4-6 with a run scored, Derek Campbell added 2 hits and 3 RBIs and Michael Williams had 2 hits and 2 runs scored for St. Cloud. Jon Richard threw 6 innings with 2 hits and 1 earned run allowed to get the win for the Bats.

The North beat the South 6-3 in the Northwoods League All Star game in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin Monday night. Dan Olinger of Brainerd had 3 hits, 2 runs scored and 1 RBI for the North. Andy Henkemeyer of the River Bats went 1-2 batting for the North and Mitch Garver did not play.

The Northwoods League All Star game will be played tonight at Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin at 7:05pm. Two St. Cloud River Bats will play for the North Division team tonight. The two are catcher Mitchell Garver and outfielder Andy Henkemeyer. Garver is hitting .290 with 4 homeruns and 21 RBIs and Henkemeyer is hitting .313 with no homeruns and 24 RBIs for the Bats this season.

The River Bats lost 5-0 at Thunder Bay Friday night. St. Cloud managed just 4 hits and Derek Campbell had 2 of them. John Lally threw 8 shutout innings for the Border Cats to get the win. Austen Wisroth allowed 11 hits and 5 earned runs in 7 innings to take the loss for St. Cloud.
