More Rain on the Way
We get one day to dry out today before rain returns from the southwest tonight. Rain chances will continue into Saturday, though the heaviest and most widespread rain is expected Friday afternoon into Saturday morning from south central MN into western WI.
Late Season Thunderstorms Produce Hail, Heavy Rain
Some late season thunderstorms moved across the area early Wednesday morning. Thunderstorm warnings were issued by the National Weather Service from 12:45 a.m. until 2:45 a.m. for area counties, including: Stearns, Benton, Sherburne, Todd and Morrison counties.
Thunderstorm Chances Return to the Forecast
Storms will push into western MN from South Dakota this evening, weaken by Saturday morning, then redevelop further east Saturday afternoon and evening. Large hail and damaging winds are possible with a few of the storms.
Rain Likely Wednesday, Thursday
Periods of rain and occasional thunder will be found across the area and will linger into Thursday. Rainfall will be moderate to heavy at times, possibly causing localized flooding issues.
