Stearns, Sherburne Counties Included in Winter Weather Advisory

Some parts of central Minnesota are in a Winter Weather Advisory from 11:00 a.m. on Sunday through 1:00 a.m. on Monday. A quick-hitting low pressure system with plenty of moisture will spread accumulating snowfall over much of central through southeastern Minnesota into southwestern Wisconsin mainly Sunday afternoon and evening.

Some unofficial snowfall totals from the National Weather Service. Here in St. Cloud the snow began to fall about 4:00 a.m. this (Tuesday) morning and came to an end by about 11:00 a.m.

UPDATE: Winter Weather Advisory until 6:00 p.m. Tuesday

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for our entire WJON listening area today (Tuesday) until 6:00 p.m. We could see between one and three inches of snow, with some sleet mixed in as well.

An area of light snow had expanded northward overnight across the Twin Cities and portions of west central Wisconsin. The northern extent of the snow will clip the northern suburbs of the Twin Cities.

Freezing Rain Advisory until 6:00 a.m. Thursday

The National Weather Service has issued a Freezing Rain Advisory for all of our listening area until 6:00 a.m. tomorrow (Thursday). Ice accumulations of less than a tenth of an inch are possible. Untreated surfaces may become very slippery.
