Officials Report 123,000 Unfilled Jobs Statewide
Minnesota employers had about 123,000 job openings in the second quarter of this year. The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development says that's up 26 percent from the same period a year ago when there were more than 97,000 vacancies statewide.
Minnesota Unemployment Continues to Inch Down
Minnesota's unemployment rate is continuing its downward trend. The Department of Employment and Economic Security announced Thursday that the state had a 5.2 percent jobless rate in June. That's a tenth of a percent lower from where it was in May.
Survey Looks At Job Vacancies [AUDIO]
New study looks at three Minnesota industries struggling to find workers. The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, or DEED, surveyed 213 businesses that had over 1,500 available positions in the second quarter of 2012.
St. Cloud Metro Added 2,500 Jobs in Past 12 Months
The state says the St. Cloud metro area has added about 2,500 jobs over the past 12 months. The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development says St. Cloud's employment figure grew by 2.5% since last August, the fastest in the state.
