The Twins lost 7-3 to the Kansas City Royals Wednesday afternoon to get swept in 2 straight games. The Baltimore Orioles beat the Twins 6-1 Wednesday night. The Twins have lost 4 straight games and are 55-74. Justin Morneau doubled in the lone Twins' run and Jason Kubel was 1-4 with a run scored. Minnesota managed just 6 hits. Kevin Slowey threw 4 2/3 innings with 7 hits and 5 earned runs allowed to take the loss and drop to 0-2. Jeremy Guthrie threw 7 innings with 1 earned run allowed to get the win.

The Twins defeated the Angels in Anaheim 11-4 Wednesday night. Minnesota knocked out 5 homeruns led by Michael Cuddyer with 2 homeruns and 5 RBIs. Cuddyer broke the 4-all tie in the 5th inning with a grand slam homerun. Delmon Young added 2 homeruns and 3 RBIs for the Twins and both Jason Kubel and Ben Revere each had 3 hits and 2 runs scored.

The Twins defeated the Texas Rangers 7-2 Wednesday night. Joe Mauer hit his first homerun this season and had 3 runs scored with 2 RBIs for the Twins. Michael Cuddyer had 2 hits, 2 runs scored and 2 RBIs and Jason Kubel had 3 hits and 3 RBIs for the Twins. Brian Duensing threw 6 2/3 innings with 7 hits and 1 earned run allowed with 6 strikeouts to get the win and improve to 8-8 for Minnesota.

The Rangers scored early and often to beat the Twins 20-6 in Texas Monday night. Texas scored 3 runs in the first, 2nd and 3rd innings, 5 runs in the 4th and 4 more runs in the 5th. Nick Blackburn allowed 11 hits and 9 runs (6 earned) in 2 2/3 innings to take the loss and drop to 7-7.

The Major League Baseball All Star game is tonight in Phoenix, Arizona and outfielder/first baseman Michael Cuddyer will be the lone Twins representative playing the American League team. Cuddyer is batting .298 with 13 homeruns and 43 RBIs this season.

The Twins lost 12-5 to Tampa Bay at home in their hopes of a sweep against the Rays at Target Field. Tampa Bay scored 4 8th inning runs and added 3 more runs in the 9th inning to secure the win. Alex Burnett and Phil Dumatrait were each roughed up by the Rays. Burnett allowed 4 hits and 4 earned runs in 1 1/3 innings to take the loss and drop to 2-5. Francisco Liriano started the game for the Twins and allowed 6 hits and 5 earned runs in 4 1/3 innings.

Twins' outfielder/first baseman Michael Cuddyer has been chosen as an American League All Star reserve. He is the Minnesota All Star. Cuddyer earns his first all star selection. Cuddyer is batting .289 with 11 homeruns and 34 RBIs for the Twins.

The Twins lost for the 2nd straight day 2-1 at San Francisco Thursday night. Michael Cuddyer extended his hitting streak to 12 games and were 3-4 with 1 RBI for the Twins. Minnesota had just 4 hits on the day. Tim Lincecum threw 7 shutout innings with 3 hits allowed and 12 strikeouts to get the win.
