Giants, Lincecum Beat Twins 2-1
The Twins lost for the 2nd straight day 2-1 at San Francisco Thursday night. Michael Cuddyer extended his hitting streak to 12 games and were 3-4 with 1 RBI for the Twins. Minnesota had just 4 hits on the day. Tim Lincecum threw 7 shutout innings with 3 hits allowed and 12 strikeouts to get the win.
Brian Duensing threw 6 2/3 innings with 6 hits and 1 earned run allowed to take the loss and drop to 4-7. Minnesota is 32-41 and are 8 games back of Cleveland for first place in the American League Central.
The Twins will play at Milwaukee at 7:10 tonight beginning a 3-game series, pregame on WJON at 6:40. Righthander Scott Baker (5-4) gets the start on the mound for the Twins and lefthander Randy Wolf (5-4) toes the rubber for the Brewers.
