Wild Trade For Heatley; Sign Harding

The Minnesota Wild traded for left winger Dany Heatley Sunday with San Jose and send forward Martin Havlat to the Sharks in exchange. Heatley is a 30-year old goal scorer who had 26 goals and 38 assists for San Jose last season. He scored 64 points. The Wild will be the 4th NHL team for Heatley.

Wild Lose At Home To Chicago

The Minnesota Wild lost 4-2 at home to the Chicago Blackhawks Monday night. Chicago went out to a 3-0 lead entering the 3rd period before Minnesota got goals from Martin Havlat and Brent Burns. Chicago added an insurance goal after the scored was 3-2. Niklas Backstrom had 30 saves for the Wild and Minnesota was outshot 34-26.

Team Lidstrom defeated Team Staal 11-10 at the NHL All Star game in Raleigh, North Carolina Sunday afternoon. Patrick Sharp of Chicago posted a goal and 2 assists in the losing effort for Team Staal. The two Minnesota Wild players, Brent Burns and Martin Havlat both played for Team Staal.

The Minnesota Wild won at Chicago 4-2 Tuesday night to go into the All Star break on a high note. Chuck Kobasew and Pierre-Marc Bouchard each had a goal and an assist and Martin Havlat and Antti Miettinen each scored a goal for Minnesota. Niklas Backstrom had 31 saves for the Wild.
