A freshwater chloride contamination study shows that many lakes in the Twin Cities are so contaminated with road salt that they'll no longer support native fish and plants within three decades.
The recent warm weather and rain could have some affects on fish houses out on county lakes. Sherburne County Sheriff Joel Brott says ice fisherman should not wait until last minute to removed their fish houses.
With summer in full swing, the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office Water Patrol is out making sure everyone is safe on the water. The water patrol enforces rules on the water and also educates the public on boat safety. Sergeant Kellan Hemmesch says they typically have eight people out on the water during the weekend and holidays.
