December 27, 2012 Four Vikings were named to the NFC Pro Bowl team when the NFC and AFC Pro Bowl teams were announced. The four are running back Adrian Peterson, fullback Jerome Felton, kicker Blair Walsh and defensive end Jared Allen. Peterson is named to his 5th Pro Bowl team. Felton and Walsh are first time pro bowlers.

October 25, 2012 The Vikings put their 5-2 record on the line when they host Tampa Bay at 7:20 tonight, pregame on WJON at 6:00. The Buccaneers are 2-4 and are coming off a loss at home against New Orleans. Minnesota won at home against Arizona 21-14 on Sunday. Minnesota is relatively healthy for tonight's game with just 2 players not expected to play because of injury.
October 19, 2012 The Vikings have given running back Adrian Peterson and defensive end Jared Allen a break this week. Both missed practice Thursday for precautionary reasons. Peterson has a sprained left ankle and Allen has been bothered by a groin injury. Both are expected to play Sunday when the Vikings host Arizona at noon, pregame on WJON at 11am.
October 4, 2012 Vikings defensive end Jared Allen didn't practice Wednesday due to a groin injury but the Viking believe Allen can play Sunday against Tennessee. Others that didn't practice include; receiver Michael Jenkins (ribs), safety Mistral Raymond (ankle) and safety Andrew Sendejo (ankle). The following were limited in practice; linebacker Erin Henderson (concussion), guard Charlie Johnson (back), quarterback Christian Ponder (knee), cornerback Marcus Sherels (quad) and cornerback Antoine Winfield (knee).

January 17, 2012 Viking defensive end Jared Allen is the NFL Defensive Player of the Year. The NFL season ending awards were announced Tuesday. Allen set a franchise record in 2011 with 22 sacks and was just 1/2 sack away from Michael Strahan's single season record for sacks. Allen ranks 20th all time in sacks with 105.

November 3, 2011 Viking defensive end Jared Allen has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Month for October. Allen in October had 8 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, and 24 tackles. Allen is the first Viking to receive this award since Darren Sharper won it in 2005. Allen leads the NFL in sacks with 12 1/2 and is on pace to break the single-season sack record held by Michael Strahan.
