Gov. Mark Dayton and Minnesota Vikings defensive end Jared Allen are among those rallying residents ahead of a Minnesota House vote on a new stadium agreement.

Viking defensive end Jared Allen is the NFL Defensive Player of the Year. The NFL season ending awards were announced Tuesday. Allen set a franchise record in 2011 with 22 sacks and was just 1/2 sack away from Michael Strahan's single season record for sacks. Allen ranks 20th all time in sacks with 105.

The NFL announced the NFC and AFC Pro Bowl teams Tuesday and defensive end Jared Allen is the lone Minnesota Viking to make the NFC team. Allen leads the NFL in sacks with 18.5 and is just 3 sacks away from setting a new Viking franchise record for sacks in a season.

Viking defensive end Jared Allen has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Month for October. Allen in October had 8 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, and 24 tackles. Allen is the first Viking to receive this award since Darren Sharper won it in 2005. Allen leads the NFL in sacks with 12 1/2 and is on pace to break the single-season sack record held by Michael Strahan.
