Sampson III Staying In NBA Draft

Gopher center Ralph Sampson III has likely decided to stay in the NBA draft. Sampson III needed to take his name out of the NBA draft list Sunday but he reportedly did not and will stay eligible for the NBA draft. His AAU coach said Sampson II will test the draft. He forgoes his senior year of eligibility.

Tubby Smith Says He’ll Stay With Gophers

Gopher men's basketball head coach Tubby Smith says he plans to stay at the University of Minnesota and is working on a contract extension with Athletic Director Joel Maturi. Reports had indicated that Tubby Smith was set to replace John Pelphrey at the University of Arkansas. Smith has also been rumored as a candidate at Georgia Tech.
