Coborn's has a plan to expand and remodel their Cooper Avenue store in St. Cloud. Spokesman Dennis Host says they want to build a more than 10,000 square foot addition to the east side of the building, and move the liquor store into that space.
Another big donation has been announced for the planned St. Cloud Aquatic and Community Center. Coborn's Incorporated has given a $1 million contribution. So far a total of $23.5 million has been raised, as they get closer to their $27 million goal.
Coborn's Incorporated has formed a partnership with a North Dakota grocery store chain. They are now co-owners with Williston-based JK Foods, which owns three grocery stores and one floral shoppe in the cities of Stanley, Tioga, and Williston.
St. John's University is getting a brand new soccer field, thanks in large part to Coborn's Incorporated. The grocery store chain has donated $400,000 to develop the soccer field in honor of former coach Pat Haws.
DBC Foods -- a division of Coborn's Incorporated -- has been awarded a $215,000 state grant. The money through the Dislocated Worker Program will help 60 employees find new jobs, and update their job skills.
