St. Cloud Cathedral is making some changes to their class schedule this week, because of the extreme heat. Today (Monday) they have a limited number of students, so they are using just their air conditioned rooms.

The Granite City Classic boys hockey tourmament or the St. Cloud Invite begins tonight at the MAC in St. Cloud. The 2 games scheduled for today are Sauk Rapids-Rice vs. Tech at 5:15 before Apollo plays Cathedral at 7:15. The tournament continues through Saturday.

St. Cloud Cathedral is investing in personal laptop computers for every one of their 7th and 8th grade students. The students will carry the laptops back and forth between home and school and will have access to them 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Today (Tuesday) is the first day of school at St. Cloud Cathedral. And for the first time since 1972 the students in 7th and 8th grade are a part of Cathedral -- not John XXIII Middle School.

The high schools around the St. Cloud area are all hosting graduation ceremonies in the comings days. St. Cloud Apollo has their commencement at 7:30 p.m. tonight (Thursday) at the St. Cloud Civic Center. Seniors at St. Cloud Tech will get their diplomas tomorrow (Friday) at 7:30 p.m. also at the Civic Center.

Apollo won their Section 8AAA boys basketball game on Saturday. And Cathedral won their Section 5AA boys basketball game on Saturday. Both teams will be in action again next week.

Local Catholic school leaders are retiring the name of the John XXIII Middle School. The John XXIII name has been used for the past 40 years.
