A federal prosecutor says a former fire chief from a northeastern Minnesota community awaiting sentencing for arson has been diagnosed as a pyromaniac.
The St. Cloud Fire Department is investigating an arson fire. Fire crews were called to Tom Windshield Repair on Fifth Street North at about 10:15 p.m. last (Sunday) night.
A Hillman man whose home was facing foreclosure has been convicted of setting the house on fire in 2010 for the insurance money. Jurors deliberated for four hours this week before finding 53-year-old Randy Donald Reed guilty of first-degree arson. He's scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 9.
St. Cloud police are looking for information on an arson fire. At about 10:20 p.m. on Saturday police and fire were called to the 2500 block of Clearwater Road for an apartment sign that was on fire.
Police arrested a St. Cloud man after he allegedly tried to burn down a residence Saturday evening. Officers were called to the 1500 block of 33rd Avenue North at about 5:15 p.m. for a reported fire.
