ST. CLOUD — Police arrested a St. Cloud man after he allegedly tried to burn down a residence Saturday evening.

Officers were called to the 1500 block of 33rd Avenue North at about 5:15 p.m. for a reported fire. Witnesses say 23-year-old Thomas Koubsky had intentionally started a fire in the closet of an upstairs bedroom.

Koubsky had told the witnesses he intended to burn the building down.

The witnesses were able to put the fire out and Koubsky was arrested on suspicion of 3rd degree arson.
