MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minneapolis has approved Sunday growler sales starting this weekend.

Minnesota lawmakers approved a law this year allowing taprooms and brewpubs to sell the jugs on Sundays, just like every other day of the week. But it's up to cities to approve the practice.

Minneapolis is home to a craft-beer boom. For Tom Whisenand of Indeed Brewing Co. in northeast Minneapolis, Sunday growler sales represent a chance to sell to weekend tourists.

Whisenand says people from adjacent states coming to Minneapolis for the weekend now have an opportunity to pick up a growler as they leave on Sunday and take it home.

Duluth is also jumping into Sunday growler sales this weekend. Rochester already allows it, and St. Paul is expected to start next month.
