ST. JOSEPH -- A Big Lake man was taken to the hospital after a car crash Saturday afternoon.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says it happened at about 12:45 p.m. along County Road 75 in St. Joseph. 33-year-old Terry Spinks lost control of his car, entered the median and struck several sign posts. One of the signs was thrown into oncoming traffic where it was run over by a Jeep Wrangler. The driver wasn't hurt, but the Jeep had to be towed.

Sheriff's officials say Spinks was taken to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment.

It's unclear what caused Spinks to lose control of his car, but sheriff's deputies are investigating.
