An Eden Valley woman is dead after her boyfriend discovered her body in a backyard fire pit. Stearns County sheriff's deputies were called to the home in the 500 block of Stearns Avenue West at about 1:20 this morning. Officers found 57-year-old Bonita Schwandt dead at the scene.

Stearns County Sheriff's officials are investigating the death of a 4-year-old girl Monday. The girl has been identified as Alyssa Aicher of St. Cloud, her mother is 25-year-old Crystal Aicher of St. Cloud. Sheriff John Sanner says Clearwater Rescue crews and deputies were dispatched to Warner Lake Park at about 7:45 last night for a missing child. The girl was found unresponsive in the water and was immediately given CPR.

An Albany area man had an encounter with a would-be thief while checking on his father's home this morning. The man told sheriff's deputies he went to check on his dad's place about a mile south of Albany when he found a man inside the home.

Authorities have arrested two 18-year-old men on burglary charges after a break-in at a St. Augusta convenience store. Police arrested Michael Wood of Waite Park and John Gray of Sartell. Both were booked on suspicion of 3rd degree burglary and released pending their first court appearance.
