ST. CLOUD -- A St. Cloud man was arrested this(Sunday) morning after allegedly hitting another man in the head with a hammer.

The incident happened in the 500 block of Highway 10 in South St. Cloud.

Police say when evidence revealed 52-year-old Samvang Phrachansiry, of St. Cloud, had assaulted another man but hitting him with a hammer in the head.

After the incident, Phrachansiry had left the scene on foot and returned home.

Phraschansiry was arrested and taken to the Benton County Jail.

He faces charges of 2nd degree assault and terroristic threats.

The 54-year-old victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
