ST. CLOUD -- The St. Cloud Hospital has announced three winners of the annual Spirit of Women Award. Kholood Abudhadid, Eve Wallinga and Sister Kara Hennes are among more than 900 women who have been recognized across the United States since 1998.

Abudhadid was awarded the Young Person Role Model Award for her volunteer service at St. Cloud Hospital. This award is dedicated to women ages 14 to 20. She has taken a leadership role and is one of their most active junior volunteers.

Wallinga is the recipient of the Community Hero award. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006. Since then, she has co-founded the Breastoration Foundation which helps women with breast reconstruction.

Sister Hennes was honored with the Healthcare Hero award reserved for a clinical professional. She has worked at St. Cloud Hospital for 42 years and has served in many leadership roles including vice president for patient care, director of nursing and was a St. Cloud Hospital board member.

The three winners will receive recognition from CentraCare Health Foundation and a $1,000 award. The Spirit of Women Awards Program recognizes the unsung volunteers and heroes in the community.
