SPAM Sushi, Deep Fried Nachos, State Fair Unveils New Foods

ST. PAUL - It's that magical time when the Minnesota State Fair unveils its new foods for the Great Minnesota Get-Together.

There will be 32 new foods to check out this year. In total, nearly 500 foods are avilable at 300 different spots across the fairgrounds.

Candied Bacon Donut Sliders: sliced glazed donut holes with thick candied bacon and a chocolate red wine.

SPAM Sushi: Now this is interesting. Grilled SPAM, sushi rice, fried egg and wasabi.

Macaroni & Cheese Curds:  Rich macaroni and cheese blended with cheese curds. I MUST HAVE THIS.

Cheesy French Onion Monkey Bread: Pull apart bread loaf filled with caramelized onions, cheese and beef broth, baked in a wood-fire oven.

Deep Fried Nachos Supreme: Pepper jack cheese cubes with a mix of crushed tortilla chips and nacho cheese, then deep friend, covered with taco meat, guac, more nacho cheese and sour cream.

Reuben Pickle Dog: A dill pickle spear with sauerkraut and thousand-island dressing wrapped in a slice of corn beef.

Deep Fried Grilled Cheese Bites: Cheddar cheese blended with beer batter, deep-fried for a taste similar to a grilled cheese sandwich. Served with a bloody mary mix.

Cracker Jack Caramel Sundae: Vanilla ice cream topped with caramel and chocolate candy, whipped cream and hot fudge. Served on Cracker Jack popcorn in an original Cracker Jack box.
