ST. CLOUD - The fifth annual Small Business Saturday kicks off this weekend.

The Better Business Bureau of Minnesota is encouraging you to participate and shop local on Saturday.

Falling between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Small Business Saturday is a great way to show your support for local businesses that help create a community identity.

Small Business Saturday partners include the United States Postal Service, Foursquare, Fed Ex Office and Twitter, who will be providing free signage, shipping and advertisements for participating businesses.

The BBB is working with American Express Open to get the word out about Small Business Saturday. American Express is also offering card members the opportunity to get a $10 statement credit to use at qualifying small business locations.

You can research companies for free at the BBB's website.
