ST. CLOUD -- A search made today in two area homes by the Central Minnesota Violent Offenders Task Force resulted in the confiscation of various types of illegal drugs, guns and cash.

Officers conducting the search at 23692 69th Avenue in St. Augusta found approximately six pounds of methamphetamine and a stolen handgun.

A resident of the home, Joseph McMahon, 34, St. Cloud, was arrested at the scene and faces numerous charges including first degree possession of a controlled substance and a felon in possession of a firearm.

A second search related to the investigation at 215 6th Street NE in St. Cloud found one pound of meth, six grams of Molly (a drug similar to Ecstasy), 125 grams of marijuana and a stolen handgun out of Sauk Rapids.

Home at the time was Alyssa Jarecki, 25, St. Cloud, who was taken to the Benton County Jail after she was found to have outstanding warrants for her arrest.

Jarecki is facing charges of first- and fifth degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of stolen property.

Police say the combined estimated street value of the recovered methamphetamine is $298,000.

The Central Minnesota Violent Offenders Task Force is comprised of officers from the Sartell, St. Cloud, and Little Falls Police Departments, along with deputies from Stearns, Todd, Morrison, and Sherburne Counties.
