SAUK CENTRE - A Sauk Centre man is hurt after hitting unlit farm equipment on the road Thursday night.

The incident happened just after 7:50 p.m. on County Road 183, west of Sauk Centre.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says a car driven by 30-year-old Jose Torres of Sauk Centre, was driving south when he approached a tractor pulling a round baler.

The baler didn't have any lights or reflectors on the back. Torres didn't see the baler until the last second and swerved to avoid hitting it. His car hit the left tire of the baler, went ito the ditch and rolled, coming to a rest on its roof.

Torres was taken to a nearby hospital for a head injury. The driver of the tractor, 71-year-old David Bromenshenkel of Sauk Centre, was not hurt. Both drivers were cited after the crash. Torres was driving without a valid license.

The Sheriff's Office is reminding those who are harvesting to have visible safety equipment and lights on their equipment.
