SARTELL - Students in Sartell - St. Stephen schools could see the return of Spring Break after the school board votes on the measure, Monday.

The board received a recommendation to return the five-day break from the District Calendar Committee, after a survey gauged the feelings of parents, guardians and staff members.

Over 1,700 responses show support for a break in March with two additional long weekends in February and April.

Survey results list family time as the most popular reason for a possible break.

Students would start school on September 3rd and end June 4th, 2014 if the proposed calendar is approved.

The school board is scheduled to meet Monday at 6 p.m. at the St. Stephen City Hall.

Superintendent Joseph Hill says he will recommend moving forward with the proposed calendar during that time.

The school board voted to eliminate Spring Break last year, causing an outcry from some community members along with a shake-up of the board's leadership.
