SARTELL -- Athletes from all over central Minnesota are getting ready for this weekend's 33rd annual Apple Duathlon in Sartell.

The two-day event begins tonight (Friday) with a kids' race beginning at 5:50 p.m.

Hundreds are expected to compete Saturday in the duathlon that features two 5k runs with a 33k bike race between them.

The 5k runs will take runners from 7th St. N to Pine Cone Road N, down to 345th St. N and 2 1/2 St. N to 2nd Ave. N.

The 33k bike race will go up 57th Ave to Main St. W, up Cedar Ave. N and back down County Road 1 and Great River Road.

The Apple Duathlon starts at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow (Saturday) at the Sartell Middle School.
