Routine Traffic Stop Leads Police On Short Chase

ST. CLOUD -- A routine traffic stop in St. Cloud led authorities on a short chase along Interstate 94 last night (Thursday).

The St. Cloud Police Department says they attempted to stop a car around Midnight for a traffic violation.

Authorities say the driver, 23-year-old Joseph Kruse of Monticello refused to stop. Police chased Kruse's vehicle along I-94 and used stop sticks near the Avon Exit to County Road Six.

Authorities say Kruse was tased and taken to the Stearns County Jail on charges of Fleeing Police, Second Degree DWI, Second Degree DWI Test Refusal, Obstructing the Legal Process, Driving after Revocation and speeding.
